Sanwo-Olu Reaffirms Commitment to Women Empowerment at WAPA Conference

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to driving Lagos’ economic growth through increased investments in women-owned businesses across the state.

Speaking at the 2025 WAPA Connect Conference in Victoria Island, the governor, represented by his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, said the theme “Investing in Lagos Women: Investing in Growth” reflects the administration’s vision of building a greater Lagos that empowers every woman.

He highlighted that a women’s empowerment roadmap has already been introduced to break barriers limiting women’s participation in business and entrepreneurship.

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Bolaji Dada, explained that the WAPA Connect Conference serves as a platform for women from diverse professions to network, share ideas, and collaborate in building sustainable businesses.

She emphasized that empowering Lagos women remains a key strategy for strengthening the state’s economy and ensuring inclusive development.
