The Love of Christ Generation Church, under the leadership of Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, has unveiled a lineup of activities to celebrate its 18th anniversary, themed “Harvest of Prosperity.”
At a press briefing in Lagos, Rev. Ajayi expressed deep gratitude to God for sustaining the church since its inception, describing the milestone as a season of thanksgiving and renewed commitment.
“It has pleased the Lord to keep us standing for 18 years. Every year we gather to praise Him specially, and we call on our press friends to share the good news that the work the Lord started with us is still going strong,” she said.
Rev. Ajayi explained that the theme “Harvest of Prosperity” was inspired by scripture, reaffirming the church’s faith in God’s power to prosper His people.
“When others are saying there is a casting down, we are declaring a lifting up. Our Creator blesses in ways seen and unseen, and as He has prospered us, He will continue to prosper us,” she added.
The anniversary will feature an all-night praise and prayer service on Friday, followed by a grand thanksgiving service on Sunday at the Lagos headquarters. Distinguished guests, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, respected clerics, and traditional leaders, are expected to attend with goodwill messages.
Beyond the spiritual festivities, Rev. Ajayi highlighted the church’s commitment to education and empowerment.
Over 400 students are currently on church-sponsored scholarships across Nigerian private universities such as Babcock, Caleb, and Redeemer’s.
In addition, the church continues grassroots empowerment initiatives through vocational training and business support, recently acquiring 17 sewing machines for its skills program and providing support for local traders.
The church must not only build souls but also build livelihoods.
Even if you are not academically inclined, you can learn a trade.
We are empowering people to prosper and stand on their own,” she emphasized.
Rev. Ajayi concluded with prayers of thanksgiving, assuring members and well-wishers that the church’s next phase will bring greater impact and divine upliftment.
