Another set of five hundred less privileged pupils of public schools in Education District three of Lagos have been empowered with educational materials as another academic session begins.
The beneficiary schools under the back to school project of an NGO, Olalekan Ayinla foundation are; Oke Ira primary school Ogba, Onigbongbo Primary School, Maryland, Opebi primary school, Ikeja, Saint Peters primary School Adeniyi Jones primary school, Tokunbo Ali Primary School and Orise Primary school.
At the presentation of school bags, scandals, notebooks to pupils, the Donor, Mr Olalekan Ayinla, said the initiative was to give back to the society and put smiles on the faces of the less privileged as well as ease the burden of the economic realities on parents.
“We are once like the students and once they remember the gesture they can also emulate such when they grow up. We all know the economic realities in the country, so we must help the students grow as the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu is sowing good seed, we also need to support him to succeed as government alone cannot provide the needed educational support to all Nigerian students,” he said.
Appreciating the gesture, the students chorused a thank you to the donor, while representative of the Lagos State Universal Education Board, SUBEB, Mrs Omobolanle Sobowale, commended the initiative and urged other well meaning Nigerians to follow suit noting that education is not government responsibility alone.

“We thank the Olalekan Ayinla foundation for this great initiative and we appealed to other Nigerians to do the same, the economy is indeed hard and we all need to extend support hands to the less privileged in the society, we call on the private sector, corporate organizationsbto support our students in Lagos”
The Olalekan Ayinla foundation also supported widows, Senior citizens and other vulnerable people in Ojodu, Ikeja and Onigbongbo Council areas.
