Tinubu Urges Self-Reliance, Youth Engagement in Nigeria’s 65th Anniversary

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to embrace production and self-reliance as the cornerstone of national growth, stressing that the nation must shift from consumption-driven habits to innovation and value creation.

Speaking during Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, he acknowledged current hardships but assured that his administration’s reforms are beginning to yield positive results.

On security, Tinubu noted that over 300 Boko Haram and bandit commanders have been neutralised, with displaced citizens returning home.

He also announced plans for a National Youth Conference to give young Nigerians a voice in policy-making.

Defending his economic reforms, the president highlighted improved monetary discipline and measures to stabilise the foreign exchange market.

He further urged states to adopt mechanised farming, promising government support with fertilizers, tractors, and equipment to drive food production.

Tinubu called on Nigerians of all backgrounds to unite in building a stronger, more prosperous nation.
