The Nigerian Foods & Culture Festival (NFCF) promises to be a groundbreaking national celebration of Nigeria’s rich heritage, bringing together food, music, art, fashion, sports, and technology under one vibrant platform.
Organized by Irabor Creative Minds & Partners in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, the event is themed “Proudly Nigerian, Globally Celebrated.”
Following NEC’s approval, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa, officially unveiled the national programme at a stakeholder event in Abuja.
The convener and founder of Irabor Creative Minds, Mr. Jude Uwagbai Irabor, said the festival was inspired by the growing global recognition of Nigerian creativity and excellence across sectors.
“Whether it’s our cuisine, literature, music, fashion, or sports, our Nigerian-ness is being celebrated globally. The NFCF is a space to celebrate that excellence right here at home,” Irabor said.
The festival’s Communications Officer, Ada Onuorah, added that the event would offer a rare opportunity for children, youths, and tourists to explore Nigeria’s diverse cultural expressions. She noted that the NFCF would also serve as a platform for partnerships, networking, and community development, while promoting national unity and cultural understanding.
According to the organisers, the two-day festival will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, featuring exhibitions, live performances, and state showcases.
All 36 states and the FCT are expected to participate through their Ministries of Art and Culture.
Attendees will experience authentic cuisines, artistic creations, and innovations from across Nigeria, making the NFCF one of the highlights of the “Detty December” festive season.
Beyond entertainment, the event aims to boost Nigeria’s creative economy and position culture as a driver of socioeconomic growth.
