Radio Nigeria’s Bond 92.9 FM Lagos, known as “The People’s Station,” is set to host a major cultural celebration titled, “Yoruba Day & Aroko” on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
The event will take place at 1A, Adekunle Fajuyi Way, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, starting at 11 a.m. prompt.
The celebration aims to celebrate Yoruba culture, language, and traditions through performances, lectures, and displays that reflect the richness of Yoruba heritage.
The Royal Father of the day will be Oba Oluwasegun Adeyemi-Ajasa, the Awuse of Onigbogbo, with other traditional rulers and dignitaries.
Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, a renowned Ifa priest, writer, linguist, and poet, will deliver a lecture on the ‘Role of Traditional Rulers In the Preservation of Yoruba Culture’.
According to the Chairman Planning Committee, Mr Abiola Peters, the event will feature the Grand finale of Aroko, an Essay Writing Competition, Cultural Dances, Musical Performances, fashion parade.
Several popular music stars such as popular Fuji Star Sikiru Lemon and a host of others, cultural troupes, popular masquerades are expected to perform.
Participants are encouraged to attend in traditional attire, with an Ankara participation fee set at ₦10,000 only.

Mr Peters explained that the initiative is part of the station’s commitment to preserving indigenous culture and promoting unity among Yoruba people at home and in the diaspora.
He said there will be Awards of Recognition for some distinguished personalities.
The celebration is also expected to serve as a platform for cultural education, networking, and intergenerational dialogue on Yoruba values, identity, and spirituality.
With music, dance, poetry, and traditional storytelling on display, Bond FM Aroko and Yoruba Day 2025, promises to be a colourful celebration of one of Africa’s oldest and most influential cultures.
