Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Two Suspects in Kwara Forest

The Kwara State Police Command has rescued a kidnap victim, Haruna Ahamadu, unhurt from a kidnappers’ den in Omu-Aran forest, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ilorin on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo.

According to the statement, the rescue followed credible intelligence that led to a joint operation by police operatives and local vigilantes.

Two suspects — Ayisa Ibrahim (female) and Yakubu Hassan (male) — have been arrested in connection with the abduction, while efforts are ongoing to track down other fleeing gang members.

The Commissioner of Police commended the officers for their dedication and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.

He also appreciated the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for providing operational guidance that continues to strengthen proactive policing nationwide.

The Command urged residents to provide timely information to assist in crime prevention, warning that there would be no hiding place for kidnappers and bandits in any part of Kwara State.
