Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a revised Hajj fare of N7,991,141.76 for the 2026 pilgrimage, with December 5, 2025, fixed as the final deadline for intending pilgrims to complete all payments.
Board Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, said the downward review follows the directive of the Presidency through the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which mandated a reduction to reflect updated dollar exchange realities.
The earlier fee of N8,561,013.67 was adjusted to N7,991,141.76 for Lagos and other Southern states.
Ajomagberin stressed immediate compliance, noting that new policies by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah place a premium on early planning, documentation and visa processing—making strict adherence to the deadline unavoidable.
He called on all intending pilgrims who have made part-payment to urgently pay up the balance, while assuring those who paid above the new approved amount of refunds after necessary reconciliation.
Intending pilgrims yet to make any deposit were also urged to act swiftly before the deadline.
To drive awareness and participation, the Board will intensify advocacy across all 57 LGAs and LCDAs, engaging Executive Chairmen, religious leaders, traditional rulers, major sponsors and organisations.
Ajomagberin thanked the Lagos State Government and stakeholders for their continued support and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to a seamless, transparent and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for all pilgrims.
