Bandits Abduct Farmer in Eruku Days After Release of 38 Church Members

Armed bandits, numbering about four, on Sunday attacked the Eruku community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State and abducted a farmer identified simply as Mr. Aasaru.

Radio Nigeria gathered that this latest incident marks the second attack in Eruku within one month and comes barely a week after the Federal Government secured the release of 38 kidnapped members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in the same community.

A source revealed that the bandits targeted Aasaru while he was on a farm along the road leading to Koro.

Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, said police operatives from the Eruku Division received a report on Sunday indicating that four armed men invaded a farm on Koro Road and abducted 40-year-old Mr. Aasaru.

Ejire-Adeyemi added that efforts have been intensified to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted farmer.
