As part of efforts to regulate noise pollution and protect the environment during the yuletide season, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has announced plans to organise a one-day workshop for hospitality businesses and entertainment operators across the state.
The workshop is aimed at sensitising key stakeholders in the hospitality and entertainment sectors on the need for moderate noise levels during the festive period, in view of the negative effects of excessive noise on human health and the environment.
General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, disclosed this in an interview with journalists, noting that the workshop, themed “Effective Noise Control and Compliance,” is designed to harmonise hospitality industry operations with environmental standards.
According to him, the engagement will help operators understand and comply with required environmental regulations, avoid penalties, and operate successfully within Lagos State environmental laws before, during and after the festivities.
Dr. Ajayi encouraged all relevant hospitality and entertainment operators to participate actively in the workshop, stressing that it is aimed at improving compliance, promoting sustainability, and supporting the continued growth of the hospitality and entertainment industry in Lagos State.
