The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, says the incident reported at Apapa (Liverpool Bridge) has now been successfully resolved.
Earlier LASEMA raised concerns over activities of residents around a fallen truck at Tincan by Liverpool bridge as they scoop fuel dripping from the fallen truck.
Permanent Secretary LASEMA Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu who made this known stated that the development followed prompt emergency response and coordinated action by relevant agencies, saying the fuel leakage has been contained with necessary safety measures being implemented.
The PS LASEMA said the area has been made safe for motorists and the general public as traffic flows around the corridor has been restored.
Dr Oke-Osanyintolu advised road users to proceed with caution while complying with all traffic and safety directives on ground.
LASEMA appreciates the cooperation of the public and reiterates the importance of avoiding unsafe actions such as fuel scooping during emergency incidents.
