Shettima to Launch Learning, Empowerment Fund at Africa Social Impact Summit 2026

Vice President Kashim Shettima will on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, launch a new learning and empowerment fund targeting Nigerian women, youth and children, as part of Nigeria’s co-hosting of the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS) 2026 High-Level Policy Engagement.

The initiative, led by the Office of the Vice President in partnership with Sterling One Foundation, the United Nations System and other partners, is aimed at accelerating progress in education, social inclusion and sustainable development across the country.

The high-level engagement, themed “Scaling Action: Driving Inclusive Growth through Policy and Innovation,” will convene more than 200 leaders from government, business, civil society organisations and the diplomatic community.

The event, scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, will also feature the launch of key initiatives designed to improve foundational learning outcomes and expand economic inclusion opportunities for women and young people.

The programme forms part of broader efforts to strengthen human capital development and promote inclusive growth in Nigeria.
