NAF to Boost Veterans’ Healthcare, Employment and Welfare — CAS

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke said improving veterans’ health care, their economic integration, financial welfare, and sustained engagement with them remains his top priority for efficient result in security matters.
He made this known In Lagos during his parley with the Veterans in NAFOWA hall Ikeja Lagos.

Air Marshal Aneke represented by the Director of Veteran Affairs Head quarters Nigerian Air force, Air Commodore Ademuyiwa Adedoyin said digital education and employment support, is one major area the service is looking at supporting the Veteran’s.

The Chief of Air staff noted that Discussions are ongoing to develop a playbook to integrate veterans into national labour and employment strategies through a collaboration with the Ministry of Labour.

Air Marshal Aneke pointed out that they are going to open a special health care section in their hospitals where Veterans will be properly taken care of.

He noted that the group life assurance policy, that is paid to family of deceased veterans, NAF have been approved by the Presidency.
Meanwhile, The President has approved that all backlog of payment for the entire Air Force should be paid.

The Air officer commanding Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Suleh said , the Parleys held across various NAF units serves as a means of contributing to the solid foundation upon which the NAF stands today as a pillar of Nigeria’s Defence and National Security.

One of the guest Speaker, Retired Air Vice-Marshal Nicholas Spiff Speaking on the topic entitled life after service stressed the need for veterans to be enlightened that life after Service into the civil life was quiet different and should plan to transit it with joy.

Over four hundred veterans were in attendance at the interactive forum, which began in 2023 as an annual event, and has grown in relevance and impact, prompting its adoption as a biannual gathering.
