CAS Reaffirms Commitment To Personnel Welfare In Lagos Projects

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of officers, airmen, and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force.

Air Marshal Aneke made this known on March 2, 2026, while inaugurating two blocks of 24 two-bedroom flats, one block of 40 one-bedroom flats, and a purpose-built sports complex for personnel at the Nigerian Air Force Camp, Legico Barracks, Victoria Island, Lagos.

He said the event reflects his deliberate and sustained focus on personnel welfare, which he described as a central pillar of his command philosophy.

According to him, the objective is to build and sustain a highly motivated, professional, and mission-ready force capable of delivering decisive air power in synergy with surface forces to achieve national security objectives.

The CAS noted that adequate housing plays a critical role in reducing welfare-related pressures, promoting family stability, and enabling personnel to concentrate fully on their operational responsibilities.

He stressed that ensuring the comfort of the wives and children of officers and men remains a priority, adding that personnel can only give their best to the Nigerian Air Force when their families are well catered for.

Air Marshal Aneke also commended his predecessor for initiating and completing the housing project, stating that honour should be given to whom it is due.

He further admonished officers, airmen, and airwomen to remain worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Air Force, maintain cordial relationships with host communities and sister security agencies, and show appreciation for the facilities through proper use and maintenance.

He emphasized that their conduct must always reflect discipline, professionalism, and loyalty to the service and the nation.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Commander 055 NAF Camp Lagos, Group Captain Ayomide Omokunga, said the Chief of the Air Staff has continued to prioritize personnel welfare as a means of enhancing morale, cohesion, and operational effectiveness.

Group Captain Omokunga described the CAS’s presence at the event as a clear demonstration of his unwavering commitment to the well-being of Nigerian Air Force personnel.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of keys to the beneficiaries of the newly inaugurated accommodation.
