The second batch of Christian pilgrims from Lagos State has deepened their spiritual experience with visits to key biblical landmarks in Jordan as activities for Day Two of their pilgrimage continued.

The pilgrims visited Mount Nebo, where they reflected on Moses’ view of the Promised Land, Canaan.
They also admired the Brazen Serpent Monument, symbolizing the bronze serpent fashioned by Moses as recorded in the Scriptures.
Their journey proceeded to Machaerus, the hilltop fortress built by Herod the Great, historically associated with the beheading of John the Baptist.
The site stands as a significant reminder of events in early Christian history.
The pilgrims later visited the Dead Sea, widely recognized as the lowest point on Earth.
The visit offered both spiritual reflection and a unique natural experience.
Among those who successfully climbed to Herod’s hilltop stronghold were the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Adewunmi Ogunsanya, and the Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr. Gbolabo Okudero, alongside other determined pilgrims.
Earlier, Dr. Okudero had advised pilgrims who might not be physically strong enough for certain sites to remain in the bus, assuring them that their intentions were known to God.
At each location, the pilgrims reportedly offered prayers for themselves, the Lagos State Government, and the nation.
The spiritual focus of the journey was sustained through morning and evening devotions, as well as worship sessions conducted aboard their buses while traveling between sites.
Many of the pilgrims expressed joy and testified to experiencing spiritual renewal as the pilgrimage progresses.
