Ogundipe Urges Authorities to Fish Out Oshodi Violence Perpetrators

A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency I, Stephen Ogundipe, has condemned the recent violent activities by hoodlums in the area and called on security agencies to apprehend those responsible.

Ogundipe, popularly known as Omoj’omolo, described the recurring clashes and attacks among youths in Oshodi as senseless, disturbing, and embarrassing for stakeholders committed to peace and development in the community.

In a statement, the lawmaker noted that the acts of violence threaten the safety of innocent residents and undermine ongoing efforts to promote peace and prosperity within the constituency.

He specifically referenced the incident that occurred on Friday, March 6, 2026, in parts of Oshodi-Isolo, where several residents were reportedly injured and properties destroyed shortly after a Ramadan lecture on Mosaku Street.

The attacks triggered fear and anxiety among residents of Adekunle, Mabayoje, Soneye, Boye, Ogunbiyi, and Ijaye Streets, leaving many worried about their safety.

Ogundipe expressed deep concern that innocent worshippers and passersby were assaulted during the violence, stressing that such actions are unacceptable and contrary to the peaceful values of the community.

While sympathising with the victims and their families, he called on security agencies, particularly police divisions within the constituency, to intensify surveillance and increase patrols across the area to protect lives and property.

The lawmaker also urged authorities to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident, identify those responsible, and ensure they face prosecution in accordance with the law.

He appealed to residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and cooperative with security agencies as efforts continue to restore peace and normalcy in Oshodi.

Ogundipe added that the community must collectively reject violence and promote unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
