A youth-driven socio-political group in Badagry, the Yegovodu Movement, has thrown its weight behind Hon. Solomon Bonu Saanu, endorsing his political ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections and commending his contributions to community development.
The group made its position known on Sunday, March 22, 2026, during a visit to the lawmaker’s residence following his facilitation of five 500KVA transformers to communities within Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and neighbouring areas.
In a move that further boosted his grassroots appeal, two of the transformers were donated to the Atinplome community, an area outside his immediate constituency.
Residents described the gesture as a demonstration of inclusive leadership and commitment to broader community development.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its leader, Mr. Olufemi Iroko, praised Bonu’s performance at the Lagos State House of Assembly, describing it as impactful and people-oriented over the past two and a half years.
According to Iroko, the lawmaker has consistently engaged with his constituents and initiated projects that address pressing community needs.
“We are confident in his leadership and capacity. His performance aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and we believe he deserves a higher platform to do more for Badagry,” Iroko said.
As part of the endorsement, the group presented campaign souvenirs to the lawmaker, symbolising their readiness to mobilise grassroots support for his political aspiration.

They also formally passed a vote of confidence in his leadership.Responding, Hon.
Bonu expressed appreciation for the endorsement and show of support, describing it as a motivation to continue delivering effective representation.

He confirmed his intention to contest in the 2027 general elections and pledged to intensify efforts to attract more development projects to Badagry.
