
The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu has pledged continued prioritisation on the Welfare of personnel and their families ,including those of the fallen heroes whom they owe a lasting debt of gratitude .

He made this known at a Special Easter celebration luncheon with troops of 81 Division held at FOB Ishawo in Ikorodu Lagos.
Lieutenant General Waide Shaibu represented by The Chief of Transformation and Innovation Major General Olusegun Abai stressed that the Nigerian Army would continue to carry out its duty with the highest standards of integrity and accountability in all its activities.

The COAS Urged the personnel to be guided by their Core values ,ensuring that their actions consistently reflect honour , responsibility and respect for the rule of law.
Lieutenant General Shaibu stressed that the sacrifices of the Army for the nation will always be matched by their collective responsibilities to support and uplift them as the defence and security of the nation is a shared responsibilities .

The General officer commanding 81Division Major General Adebayo Babalola in a welcome address said the luncheon is not a merely routine activity , it is a deliberate effort by the COAS to identify with the Frontline troops who continues to demonstrate courage ,resilience and unwavering dedication under demanding operational conditions
. Major General Babalola thanked the COAS for his exemplary leadership ,strategic direction and unwavering emphasis on troop welfare and operational effectiveness
The presentation of gifts to gallant troops and soldiers is a symbolic event carried out occasionally to show concerns to the troops in the field that their services is not in vain.
Senior officers of the military and paramilitary were on ground including the commander 9 Brigade Brigadier General Ayokunle Owolabi
