
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Nigerian Navy for emerging as the most formidable naval force in Africa . President Tinubu gave the commendation during the international fleet review of the Nigerian Navy to mark its 70th anniversary at Eko Atlantic city waterfront in Lagos.
President Bola Tinubu while commending the historic achievement of the Nigerian Navy which coincides with its 70th anniversary shows the grow over the years and getting to the pinnacle of continental leadership.

The President who expressed joy of being part of the historic international fleet review, the aerial combat display and parade of a large array of the nation’s naval assets, along with other foreign partners charged the officers and ratings of the Nigerian Navy to sustain the high standard of professionalism and to deepen their operational capability in safeguarding the nations waters.
President Tinubu also commended the Navy's contributions to counter-terrorism and insurgency operations across the country, particularly the efforts of the Special Boat Service and the newly inducted Nigerian Navy Marines.
In an address of welcome the Chief of Naval staff Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, described the President’s support for the Navy as a demonstration of his administration’s appreciation of the critical role maritime security plays in national development and stability.

Vice Admiral Abbas stressed that the Nigerian Navy had continued to deepen maritime security collaboration with friendly navies across the globe, adding that the presence of foreign naval delegations at the Fleet Review underscored the success of ongoing international partnerships.

The CNS pointed out that , the collaborative efforts of the Gulf of Guinea nations have yielded significant results, particularly in the fight against piracy and other maritime crimes, helping to sustain the region’s zero-piracy status.
At the event Three new ships that were inducted and reviewed into the Nigerian Navy ships were NNS Gurara ,Mambilla and Oloibiri.
