The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, have agreed to strengthen collaboration on support for families affected by aviation accidents.
The decision followed a meeting between officials of both agencies in Abuja, where they agreed to establish a Joint Family Assistance Working Group and a dedicated task force to coordinate the implementation of a national Aviation Disaster Victims’ Family Assistance Programme.
Director of Consumer Protection and Public Affairs at the NCAA, Michael Achimugu, says the initiative will help institutionalize a seamless family assistance programme, while the NSIB reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Authority to enhance aviation safety in Nigeria.
