ADC Urges Federal Government to Tackle Worsening Insecurity with Transparency

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed deep concern over the escalating insecurity across several parts of Nigeria, urging the Federal Government to confront the crisis with honesty, urgency, and transparency.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party called on the government to acknowledge the true scale and complexity of the nation’s security challenges and to adopt a more decisive and inclusive approach in addressing them.

The ADC emphasized the need for direct engagement with affected states, local governments, and communities, encouraging authorities to listen to the experiences of those on the frontlines and incorporate local insights into national security strategies.

The statement further called for heightened national security alertness, with coordinated operations among the military, police, and local security networks to ensure swift and effective responses to threats.

The party also challenged the government to demonstrate greater accountability and transparency, by committing to regular public reporting on security incidents and establishing a credible system for tracking and auditing federal security expenditures.

According to the ADC, only through open communication, community collaboration, and responsible leadership can Nigeria begin to overcome the persistent wave of insecurity threatening its peace and unity.
