Ahead of the Presidential Primaries Governor Wike solicits Lagos delegates’ support

The River State Governor, Nyesom Wike has met with Lagos State delegates to solicit their support for the actualization of his presidential ambition, ahead of the presidential primaries of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP,

Governor Wike was accompanied by Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, and former Governor of Cross Rivers, Donald Duke, and other party chieftains.

Addressing the delegates at Ikeja GRA, Lagos, Governor Wike said he was in the state to seek delegates’ support to emerge the flag bearer of the party at the primary in two weeks.
He said that he was the most courageous and selfless leader to tackle Nigeria’s problems because Nigeria was in dire need of such a leader to end insecurity and killing.

Governor Wike who said that hunger did not know tribe or religion, promised to stamp out banditry and insecurity in the shortest time if allowed to serve as president of the country.

The governor assured party members that he would remain in the party if eventually, he didn’t secure the tickets, warning party members against giving their votes to aspirants that could defect to other political parties.
He said he had never left the party and he is not planning to do so.

Governor Wike who insisted that will never take the position of the vice president said delegates should be wary of some party aspirants who worked against it in 2015.

He assured that his government would prioritize the protection of lives and property of citizens if given the mantle of leadership.

Governor Wike appealed to party members to sheath their swords and work to secure victory in Governorship elections in the state.

While hailing the Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Chief Olabode George for exhibiting exemplary leadership, Governor Wike said party members were obliged to accord their leaders due to respect.
