Air France has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Nigeria, pledging continued investment in connectivity, service upgrades and passenger experience as it marked 80 years of uninterrupted operations in the country.
The airline made this known in Lagos during the opening of a commemorative exhibition organised in partnership with Alliance Française.
Speaking at the event, the General Manager of Air France Nigeria, Mr Jean-Luc Mevellec, described the anniversary as both a celebration of history and a strong vote of confidence in Nigeria’s aviation market.
Mevellec said the exhibition reflects the airline’s enduring partnership with Nigeria and the deep cultural and economic ties between both countries.
He added that Air France remains proud of its journey in Nigeria and optimistic about future growth.
According to him, Air France currently operates daily flights between Lagos and Paris Charles de Gaulle, as well as three weekly flights from Abuja, offering Nigerian travellers seamless access to more than 200 destinations worldwide.
He noted that the airline has continued to expand capacity to meet rising passenger demand.
Mevellec further disclosed that Air France has invested in upgrading its facilities in Nigeria, including the renovation of its Lagos airport lounge and improvements to ticketing offices in Lagos and Abuja.
Also speaking, the Consul General of France in Lagos, Mr Laurent Favier, described the Air France–Nigeria relationship as an “oak wedding,” symbolising strength, resilience and longevity.
