The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports suggesting it has granted automatic tickets to its serving National Assembly members for future elections.
In a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC described the report as false and urged the public to disregard it.
“Our attention has been drawn to a purported Breaking News report tagged ‘APC Grants Automatic Tickets to All National Assembly Members’ in viral circulation,” the statement read.
“The report is FAKE NEWS and should be disregarded in its entirety as it did not emanate from our great party.”
Morka emphasized that the information was of “mischievous origin” and not reflective of the party’s position.
He added that the APC has not yet released official guidelines or procedures for the selection of candidates for the upcoming elections.
