The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed initiatives aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and reinforcing the party’s progressive ideology ahead of future elections.
The Lagos APC Vice Chairman, Moshood Maiyegun, stated this during an event organised by the SMA Movement at the Police College Ikeja, where party leaders, members and supporters gathered to boost mobilisation efforts within the party.
Maiyegun also commended APC chieftain, Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, for formally declaring his intention to seek the party’s governorship ticket, stressing that the APC encourages internal democracy and healthy competition among aspirants.
Ajose told supporters at the rally attended by thousands that his decision to contest the governorship was driven by a desire to sustain Lagos’ development and align with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as the architect of modern Lagos.
He pledged that his administration, if elected, would prioritise affordable housing, improved transportation, quality education and stronger primary healthcare while promoting transparency, accountability and inclusive governance across the state.
