During a media briefing in Onipanu, the Vice Chairman of the Lagos Central Arewa Community APC, Mr. Jida Sayid stated that the invasion happened around six o’clock in the morning on the first day of Ramadan.
Mr Sayid said that the individuals involved were suspected to be members of the Lagos State Task Force and officials from the Lagos Parking Authority, as some of their leaders were identified during the incident.
“We are definitely saddened to hold this emergency press conference given what transpired at the Business Premises of our Chairman. Firstly, we are so disappointed in the way and manner in which the men of the Lagos State Task Force in conjunction with the Officials of LASPARK under the leadership of the General Manager of Lagos Ms Adebisi Adelabu who ordered her men and the Lagos State TaskForce Team Headed by the Chairman CPS Adetayo Akerele to unlawfully invade the office of the Arewa community APC Lagos State Chairman, Alhaji Sa’adu Dandare at about 6:00am on Saturday, the 1st day of March 2025 without any prior notice or letter of notification.” Mr. Sayid said.
He expressed disappointment regarding how the Lagos State Task Force and the Lagos State Park Authority officials unlawfully invaded the premises and destroyed goods without any prior notice or official communication.
Mr Sayid said, “They forcefully chased people out of their offices, broke into their shops and Vandalised their goods worth Millions of Naira. We condemned this unwary and malicious act with a strong voice and also called on the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu to look into this critical issue and Wade into it as a Matter of Urgency.

Mr Sayid emphasized that the occupants and business owners at Alhaji Saadu Gulama Dandare’s premises are not illegal occupants, as they have a legal and binding contract with the Ministry of Agriculture; questioned why an agency under the Ministry of Transportation would authorize such an invasion without prior notification.
Mr Sayid noted that the Business Owner of the Invaded Premises, Alhaji Saadu Gulma Dandare, is not an illegal occupant because he had a legal and binding contract with the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture. All of a sudden, LASPARK, who is an agency under the Ministry of Transport and not of Agriculture, unlawfully invaded the Office Premises.
He reiterated that the Arewa Community in Lagos is comprised of peace-loving and law-abiding citizens who contribute significantly to the social, economic, and political development of Lagos State.
Mr Sayid said assuming and not conceding that there is an issue relating to a breach of the existing contract, the Ministry of Agriculture Would be in a better position to Draw his attention. If LASPARK, as an agency of the State in its Official capacity, Should Write to the Occupant and not behave in aaHoligan and unlawful manner of this nature in a civilised society like Lagos State.
Mr Sayid appealed to President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State APC leadership under Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, and the grand patron of the Arewa Community, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, to come to their aid, stressing that “an injury to one is an injury to all” within the Arewa Community in Lagos.
