The Nigerian Army has honoured the outgone Commander, Corps of Signals, Major General Nosakhare Ugbo, with a colourful Pulling Out Parade following his retirement from active service.
The ceremony, held in Abuja, was led by the new Commander, Major General Mohammed Abdullai, who previously headed the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Command.
The Pulling Out Parade, a long-standing military tradition, celebrates senior officers who have served meritoriously.

In his valedictory remarks, Major General Ugbo reflected on his tenure, expressing satisfaction over the remarkable progress made in modernising the Army’s communication systems and infrastructure.

He said his administration focused on strengthening capacity, embracing new technologies, and optimising available resources to align with the Nigerian Army’s operational goals.
“We have been imaginative and innovative in formulating workable ideas that have enabled us to achieve unimaginable feats in programming and communication development,” he stated.
Major General Ugbo commended the Corps’ technical teams for their ingenuity in reviving unserviceable communication equipment and upgrading facilities at the School of Signals.
He noted that these achievements underscored the resilience and creativity of signallers across formations.
The retired Commander urged officers and men to uphold professionalism, remain innovative, and support his successor in advancing the Corps’ telecommunications and ICT capabilities.
He expressed confidence that the Corps of Signals would continue to drive the Army’s communication transformation.
In an emotional moment, his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Ugbo, thanked God for her son’s successful and honourable career.

The event ended with the symbolic pulling out of Major General Ugbo, accompanied by his wife, amid cheers, music, and tributes from dignitaries, officers, and family members.
