Army Chief Hails Troops for Restoring Democracy, Boosts Morale in Lagos

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu, has applauded Nigerian Army troops for their pivotal role in restoring democratic governance in the Republic of Benin.

He gave the commendation during an address to soldiers of the 65 Battalion at Bonny Cantonment, Lagos.

General Shuaibu praised officers and men of the 81 Division for their swift and disciplined conduct during the regional operation, as well as their continued efforts in maintaining security across Lagos and Ogun States.

He noted that their actions have helped ensure a safe environment for economic activities to thrive.

The Army Chief disclosed that the General Officer Commanding 81 Division had reported the troops’ exemplary behavior during the Benin Republic mission.

He urged them to sustain the highest level of discipline and professionalism while safeguarding their host communities.

Reaffirming his commitment to troop welfare, Lieutenant General Shuaibu stressed that the wellbeing of soldiers and their families remains a top priority, as this is essential for effective security operations nationwide.

During the visit, the COAS also inaugurated newly completed facilities at the Tukur Buratai Cantonment, further boosting morale and operational readiness.
