The Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, has attributed the agency’s recent transformation and enhanced safety in the industry to the tireless efforts of its staff.

Captain Najomo stated this when he received the prestigious “Aviation Man of the Year” award for 2024 at a ceremony in Lagos by the Air Transport Quarterly Magazine, where he dedicated the honour to all staffers of the NCAA and God Almighty.

According to him, the collective efforts of the staff are the engine room of the agency, and their happiness is directly linked to the success of the organization.

“When your staff is happy, they are happy to work, and once work is going on, the place is improved,” he said.

Captain Najomo commended his management team for their support, stating that the award will spur them to do more for the sector.

He praised his directors, regional managers, and all staffers for their contributions to the agency’s success.

The Director General also acknowledged the achievements of other awardees, including the Directorate of Consumer Protection, NCAA, for their digital transformation initiatives, Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, as Trailblazing CEO, 2024, and Barr. Oluwabukola Teriba as Regional Manager of the Year, NCAA and others.
