Badagry Local Government has inaugurated members of its Executive Cabinet, with the new appointees charged to see their appointments as a call to service and an opportunity to deliver meaningful development to the people of the area.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, described the event as a major step in advancing his administration’s “Greater Badagry Rising Agenda.”
He noted that the cabinet is expected to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the ten wards of the local government.
According to the chairman, the selection of the Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisors and Special Advisers followed a transparent and inclusive process within the All Progressives Congress, allowing wards to nominate credible candidates and ensuring grassroots representation in the administration.
He congratulated the newly appointed officials but reminded them that their positions require dedication, accountability and active engagement with residents.
He stressed that the local government needs committed partners who will introduce innovative ideas and take full responsibility for their portfolios to address the challenges facing the community.
Earlier in her remarks, the Council Manager, Mrs. Mary Abosede Olusanya, commended the administration for promoting inclusive governance and urged the appointees to work closely with the council leadership to deliver results that will positively impact the lives of residents.
The oath of office was administered by the council’s Legal Officer, Kehinde Popoola, while the event was attended by political leaders, traditional rulers, party executives and other stakeholders in Badagry.
