BAGAIA hinges zero air accidents in the Sub-region to execution of safety recommendations

The zero air accident so far recorded in the West African Sub-region has been attributed to the implementation of the safety recommendations from Banjul Accord Group Accident investigation Agency ( BAGAIA) and other independent Accident investigation agencies.

The Commissioner of BAGAIA, Mr. Charles Erhueh who stated this at the closing ceremony of the BAGAIA Technical Committee(T2) meeting held in Accra, Ghana, also lauded the completion of  harmonization of the agencies’ policies and procedures manual to enable them work seamlessly knowing that the same policies and procedures are what entails all over the subregion.

 He stressed that, the advantages of the harmonisation were enormous and urged all countries in the sub-region to sustain the partnership to reduce incidents and accidents and improve travel as well as remove members from various blacklists and reduce insurance premiums because of the safety of the skies.

“That statistics of zero accidents will not be possible if BAGAIA and other independent agencies’ safety recommendations are not taken into account”.

He said,” We know other countries in the region will take a cue to strengthen BAGAIA. in the long run, all the training we do, the equipment we procure and benefits accruable are measured in terms of hull loses and other major accidents.

On the work the technical committee finished he expressed joy that, they were able to harmonize policies and procedure manual and at the same time with perspective with lots of advantages that they at BAGAIA hope would be achievable at the sub region.

Commissioner AIB-Ghana, Mr. Prempeh Agyeibi, during his closing remarks thanked BAGAIA for it’s support and expressed appreciation for picking Ghana as the host for the technical committee meeting.
