Beat Queues, Save Time: NIMC Launches Portal to Fast-track NIN Registration

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced a Pre-Enrolment Portal to make National Identification Number (NIN) registration faster and more convenient for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.

The digital platform allows applicants to capture and submit their biodata online before visiting enrolment centres for biometric capture, a move aimed at cutting long queues and easing congestion nationwide.

Checks indicate that about 127 million NINs have so far been issued to Nigerians globally.

According to NIMC’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, the portal reflects the commitment of the Director-General/CEO, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, to deploy technology that improves service delivery in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He explained that key benefits include online capture and management of biodata before biometric enrolment, appointment scheduling to reduce waiting time, improved data accuracy from self-entry, secure handling of personal information, seamless upload of supporting documents and a better overall user experience.

Meanwhile, Coker-Odusote has approved the promotion of 523 NIMC staff, reinforcing efforts to boost morale and strengthen operational efficiency across the commission.
