British Council, Partners Empower Ogun Youths at Enterprise Pitch

The British Council, in collaboration with King’s Trust International as technical partner and NerdzFactory Company Limited as delivery partner, will host the grand finale of the Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on September 9, 2025.

The highly anticipated pitch competition and final event will bring together 16 young innovators—selected from 80 participants aged 18 to 35—who have undergone weeks of enterprise training, mentorship, and pre-pitch sessions.

The challenge, now in its third edition, is designed to build the capacity of young entrepreneurs, with deliberate inclusion of women and persons living with disabilities.

At the event, eight winners will receive seed funding and targeted mentorship to grow their ventures and create sustainable impact.

Ade Olowojoba, Founding Partner at NerdzFactory Company, said the programme not only nurtures entrepreneurial ideas but also celebrates the courage and determination of Ogun youths.

Originally launched in Lagos, where over 130 young people were trained, the initiative—funded by the British Council’s Youth Connect Global—has expanded to Ogun State to widen its reach.

Stakeholders from government, business, and development sectors are expected at Abeokuta, to witness the transformative power of youth enterprise in driving innovation, inclusion, and economic growth.
