A new dawn will begin for the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta this Sunday as it celebrates the World Communication Sunday in grand style.
The Bishop of the diocese, the Most Reverend Peter Odetoyinbo will inaugurate the diocese’ chapter of the Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, CAMPAN.
He will also inaugurate the Catholic Artists and Entertainers Association as well as the Parish Communications Commission.
According to the Director of Social Communications of the diocese, the Reverend Father Gregory Fadele, the three bodies are needed to help the Church in evangelism.
While CAMPAN will report activities of the Church to the world, the Parish Communications Commission would report news of activities in their respective parishes in the Rock Newspaper, the mouth piece of the diocese.
Father Fadele said that after the inauguration, a seminar on the theme of the World Communication Sunday, ” Listening with the Ear of the Heart,” would hold inside the cathedral hall.
Renowned economist, Professor Pat Utomi will deliver a paper titled, ” Journalism of Empathy in a trouble Nation.”
