Chidinma Trial: Buyer Of Ataga’s Apple MacBook Denies Involvement

A businessman, Mr, Ifeoluwa Oluwo, has told a Lagos State High Court, sitting at Tafa Balewa Square, TBS, that he has no knowledge that the Apple MacBook Laptop, he bought from Chidinma Ojukwu, the prime suspect of Super TV Chief Executive Officer, Usifo Ataga, murder was proceed of crime.

Oluwo who is the third prosecution witness, was led in evidence by the Lagos State prosecuting counsel, Mr Yusuf Sule.

He said that he bought the Laptop from the first defendant, for the sum of N495,000, after negotiations, on June 18, 2021. (two days after the body of Ataga was found at the short service apartment in Lekki).

The witness told the court that it was after the sale of the Laptop, that he saw Chidinma’s face on social media, regarding a murder case connected to her, and that the name was very familiar to the customer he had business with earlier, so he ensured that all her documents were kept intact.

Chidinma Ojukwua a 300-level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos, and two others are facing charges over Ataga’s murder.

Ojukwu is standing trial alongside her sister, Chioma Egbuchu, and one Adedapo Quadri.

The witness who testified before Justice Yetunde Adesanya, and Identified the first defendant (Chidinma), narrated that she was a customer, who made a purchase of a phone on April 30, 2021 and also made a sale of her laptop on June 18, 2021, at the same office.

During cross-examination by the first defendant’s counsel, Mr Onwuka Egwu, asked if he was shown any documents, receipts or proof of ownership to show that the Laptop was not for the first defendant, at Panti, he said no.

However Justice Adesanya, adjourned the case to November, 29, for continuation of trial.
