The traveling Nigerian contingent for the international friendly against Russia will arrive in Moscow later today, 2nd June 2025 in the evening.
The Nigerian squad will face the Russian senior men’s national team in a tune up game slated for Moscow on Friday 6 June 2025.
The Super Eagles and their officials left London yesterday to make a stopover in Cairo Egypt before arriving in Moscow venue of the friendly.Before departure, the Eagles’ technical crew rang some changes in the team that won the Unity Cup invitational tournament concluded Saturday 31 June in London England.
Reports claim that Brentford youngster Benjamin Fredrick earned his place in the traveling squad to Russia on the back of his strong Super Eagles debut in the Unity Cup.
Four other Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL stars also made the trip to Russia.
They include Isaac Saviour of Enugu Rangers, Remo Stars’ duo of Sodiq Ismail and Sikiru Alimi plus Niger Tornadoes midfielder Papa Daniel.
The Russian friendly is part of Nigeria’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 final qualifying matches in September.
