All is set for the Silver Jubilee edition of the National Women’s Conference of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), scheduled to hold from Tuesday, October 28 to Thursday, October 30, 2025, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event, which marks 25 years of COWLSO’s commitment to women’s empowerment and social development, is expected to attract over 5,000 participants both physically and virtually.
Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will deliver the special 25th anniversary message, while the Governors of Imo and Sokoto States, Mr Hope Uzodinma and Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, are among dignitaries expected to attend the conference.
Speaking at a pre-event press briefing in Alausa, the Chairperson of COWLSO and Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, described the annual conference as a platform for the advancement, empowerment, and transformation of women in Lagos and across Nigeria.
She highlighted COWLSO’s various humanitarian interventions over the years, including support for widows, medical outreaches, and empowerment programmes, noting that the platform has remained committed to uplifting women and families in society.
Earlier, the Chairperson of the 2025 Conference Planning Committee, Dr Olayemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said this year’s edition will feature engaging and intellectually stimulating sessions on career development, leadership, entrepreneurship, marriage, and relationships.
The pre-event briefing was attended by the Wife of the Deputy Governor and Co-Convener of COWLSO, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat, and wives of top government officials.
This year’s conference will hold under the theme, “Twenty-Five Years of Visionary Legacy: Inspiring the Next Generation.”
