The Director General, Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo, has charged newly recruited Aviation Safety Inspectors and technical personnel to uphold professionalism and strict ethical standards as they begin their roles in the industry.
Speaking at an inaugural meeting in Lagos, captain Najomo reminded the officers that they represent the regulatory authority and warned against unprofessional conduct, stressing that practices such as withholding operational manuals over minor errors would not be tolerated.
He outlined a structured training programme that includes induction and on-the-job experience designed to prepare them for key inspection roles across operations, safety, and licensing.
While describing their recruitment as a rare opportunity, the DGCA also assured the new personnel of improved welfare.
Also at the meeting were the Director, Operations, Licensing and Training Standards (DOLTS), Captain Don Spiff, and the Regional Manager, NCAA Lagos Office, Barr. (Mrs) Olubukola Teriba, who urged the recruits to approach their responsibilities with integrity and dedication.
