DGCA urges aviation training organizations to strengthen safety compliance

The Director General, Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA), Captain Chris Najomo, has called upon Approved Training Organizations (ATOs) to elevate safety and efficiency within Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Addressing a workshop focused on managing compliance with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs), in Lagos, Captain Najomo, represented by the General Manager of Licensing, NCAA, Hyelni Bassi, stressed the critical role of stringent training and adherence to regulations in maintaining industry standards.

He harped on the rapid advancement of technology, shifting regulatory frameworks, and increasing complexity of operations necessitate a collaborative and proactive approach to ensure high standards of quality and compliance.

The DGCA encouraged open dialogue, emphasizing the value of participants’ unique experiences and expertise in enriching discussions.

Expressing gratitude for the commitment to aviation safety and professionalism, he urged attendees to collectively strive for ATOs to not only meet but surpass regulatory expectations.

The workshop delved into diverse compliance management aspects, including regulatory requirements, evaluation methodologies, and strategies for continuous improvement.
