The 2025 Zenith Bank Nigeria Women’s Basketball League will crown new champions today, September 20, at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos.
This follows the dramatic exit of defending champions MFM Basketball Club, who lost 45–47 to First Bank in the second semifinal.
The Elephant Girls, as First Bank are known, will now face Dolphins for the championship title and a ₦7.5 million grand prize.
Earlier, Dolphins secured their place in the final after defeating Royal Aces 66–54 in the first semifinal.
The bronze medal game between MFM and Royal Aces will take place at 2 p.m., while the final showdown tips off at 4 p.m.
Organisers, Zenith Bank, in partnership with the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), have promised a carnival-like atmosphere for the grand finale of the elite women’s league.
Both Dolphins and First Bank will also fly Nigeria’s flag at the Zonal Qualifiers for the Africa Women’s Basketball League (AWBL) later this year.
