Dominican University, Ibadan, has commended its Pro-Chancellor and former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, for what it described as his sustained contributions to education, youth development and national growth as he marked his 65th birthday.
In a statement issued by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jacinta A. Opara, the university said Obi’s commitment to educational advancement and human capital development has continued to influence institutions and inspire young Nigerians.
The institution noted that Obi has consistently promoted quality education through his public service and private engagements, describing education as a critical driver of national development.
According to the university, Obi’s leadership as Pro-Chancellor has contributed to strengthening the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence while supporting its vision of producing morally upright and globally competitive graduates.
The statement added that the university, founded on the educational heritage of the Dominican Order, appreciates Obi’s leadership and support since assuming his role as Pro-Chancellor.
Professor Opara said Obi’s commitment to integrity, service and educational development has made him a source of inspiration to many within and outside the university community.
The university also wished him good health, wisdom and strength, expressing hope that he would continue to contribute to education and national development.
Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, currently serves as the Pro-Chancellor of Dominican University, Ibadan. His 65th birthday has attracted congratulatory messages from individuals and organisations across the country.
