Dr. Adediran emerges As PDP Governorship candidate in Lagos

The Vision Leader of Lagos for Lagos Movement, Dr. Olajide Adediran has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State.

This comes six months after Dr. Adediran defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC  to the PDP with a promise to resurrect the party and  win elections in Lagos State.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the PDP Governorship Election, Mr. Emmanuel Ogidi announced that Dr. Adediran scored six hundred and seventy-nine votes while his closest contender, Mr. David Kolawole Vaughan polled twenty votes, while ten void votes were recorded

Earlier, four Governorship aspirants withdrew from the race to support the aspiration of Dr. Adediran to secure the party ticket.

Announcing the development to newsmen before the commencement of the primary Election, Mr. Ogidi stated  that Otunba Olanrewaju Jim-Kamal, Mr. Adedeji Doherty, Dr. Ade Dosunmu and Mr.Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour had written to him that they were withdrawing from the race without stating any reason.

The party primary election was held amidst tight security as delegates were made to go through serious search before gaining access to the venue of the exercise.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission monitored the exercise.
