Ahead of the twenty fifth National Women’s Conference in Lagos, Wife of the Governor, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-olu today led Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO, on a walk in Ikorodu.

At the commencement venue at the ferry terminal in Ebute, Ikorodu, Dr Sanwo-olu, said the symbolic walk was to sensitize Lagosians about the forthcoming Conference and amplify its shared call for unity, empowerment, and purposeful living among women.

The COWLSO chairperson who commended the six chairmen of Local governments and LCDAs in Ikorodu for the warm reception reiterated her commitment to touching lives, foster community well-being and social impact.
As we continue this symbolic journey, let us be reminded that when women walk together in unity and purpose in one voice and one vision, the path to success becomes clearer and the future becomes sharper, you cannot do it without us, you know, as no women, no nation” she said”
Let us continue to step up, show up and never give up, let us uphold the legacy of those who came before us and inspire the next generation as a catalyst for women’s development” Ibijoke stated.
Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Mr Kazeem Sulaimon, appreciated COWLSO leadership for choosing the ancient Town with commitment that women Empowerment would continue to be his administration’s priority.
The role of women in nation building cannot be over-emphasised, so we will continue to prioritize the welfare of our women”. he said
“The walk today is not just a ceremonious one but a symbol of unity and together to sensitize women in Ikorodu Division on the purpose of the National Women Conference which is the 25th edition and a historic one”
The National Women Conference which is scheduled to hold from October 28th to 30th, will feature plenary discussions, interactive sessions, and exhibitions, each designed to stimulate thought, inspire action, and provide practical tools for women to thrive in an ever-evolving society.
The highpoint of the walk was the presentation of 7.5M cheque by Ikorodu Division COWLSO members to the success of this year’s National women’s conference

COWLSO members led by their Chairman Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-olu who wore purple T-shirts with face cap walked from General Hospital, Ikorodu to Garage Roundabout for the Pre Conference Awareness Walk themed “Step Up , Show Up, Never Give Up.”
