D’Tigers Seek Redemption Today in FIBA AfroCan Qualifying

Nigeria’s senior men national basketball team DTigers face will play their Beninois counterparts today in the FIBA AfroCan qualifying in Cote d’Ivoire.

After falling 62-65 to Guinea in yesterday’s opener, Tigers are expected to redeem their image with a win in today’s game against Benin Republic which tips off at 5pm.

The Nigerian boys were undone by the near perfect perimeter shooting of the Beninois who shored up their defensive play with zonal coordination which led to Tigers playing isolation ball most times.

Nigeria’s last game in the tournament is against the Ivorians tomorrow.

Four nations, Nigeria, Benin Republic, Guinea and host Cote d’Ivoire are fighting for a single ticket, from the round robin competition, to the FIBA AfroCan finals in Rwanda.
