Eagles’ World Cup Qualifying Nest Bubbles in Polokwane

18 players sweated it out in Super  Eagles first training session today ahead of this Friday’s, 10 October 2025, FIFA World Cup Qualifying match against Likuena.

16 Eagles flew into the Nigerian team’s camp in Polokwane, South Africa today, bringing the total number to 18.

Players in camp include reigning African player of the year Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, captain William Troost Ekong, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi among others.

The  Likuena of Lesotho will host the Eagles in South Africa on 10 October before the Nigerian team fly down to Uyo to welcome Benin Republic in their final qualifier, 4 days later.

Nigeria, third in the Qualifying table, require maximum points against Lesotho and Benin Republic to stand a chance of berthing in the World Cup.

Benin top the table with superior goal difference over South Africa on 14 points while eventual group winners will gain direct qualification to the tournament in USA, Canada and Mexico.
