EMIR OF KANO SET TO TURBAN FORMER PRESIDENT OF PSN, AHMED YAKASAI

All is set for the turbaning of a former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, PSN, Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim Yakasai by the Emir of Kano.

Yakasai who is the Consul-General of Pakistan in Nigeria and eight others will be turbaned by the Kano Emirate Council.

The programme for the installation and turbaning released by the Emirate Council said that the event will hold next Monday, the 26th of June at the Kano Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, Kano at 9.00am.

The ceremony will be presided by the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, after which their will be pomp and celebration.

Alhaji Ado Bayero is keeping the title of the turbaning close to his chest and promised to announce it during the ceremony.

Yakasai is an accomplished pharmacist, businessman and politician.

He has a long distinguished career in various fields of Pharmacy, Healthcare Research, Oil and Gas, Engineering and Construction and Regulatory Affairs with over 40 years experience.

Yakasai has worked variously in both public and private sectors. He was a two times Commissioner in Kano State. First as Commissioner of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Tourism, 2005-2010, and was redeployed to the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, 2010-2011. He is a community leader and a former Chairman of Yakasai Zumunta Development Association and former Vice-President, Kano Chamber of Commerce.

He is a Fellow of many professions including the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Fellow of the Institute of Logistics Management of Nigeria, Fellow Chartered Institute of Commerce, Fellow of Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy, Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Management, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists, and Fellow of Professional Excellence Foundation of Nigeria etc.
