Experts to Spotlight Self-Care as Key to Reducing Nigeria’s Health Burden

Health and business leaders will gather in Lagos to explore how self-care can ease Nigeria’s growing health challenges and strengthen national well-being.

The discussions will take place at the second edition of the D’Bio Wellness & Selfcare Summit, scheduled for September 24–25, 2025, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Conference & Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.

With the theme “Self-Care as a Driver of Optimal Health and Wellness,” the summit will highlight preventive practices that reduce pressure on healthcare infrastructure while empowering individuals to take charge of their health.

The event will be chaired by Dr. Fidelis Akhagboso Ayebae, Chairman of Fidson Healthcare Plc, while the keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Victor ’Gbenga Afolabi, Chief Executive Officer of Hazon Holdings and Co-Founder of Wellness HMO.

Convener of the summit, Dr. Monica Hemben Eimunjeze, said the programme is designed to offer actionable insights rather than abstract discussions.

“We are creating a credible platform where Nigerians can learn practical approaches to taking charge of their health while complementing broader public health initiatives,” she said.

The two-day summit will feature expert-led sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, drawing participants from healthcare, wellness, policy, and business sectors.

Organizers expressed confidence that the event will produce practical recommendations and collaborations to boost health literacy, encourage healthier lifestyles, and advance Nigeria’s progress toward building resilient communities.
