True to prediction, the 4th round tie in this year’s Lagos FA Cup Competition between reigning champions Dannaz FC and bitter rivals Sporting Lagos went down to fine margins.
The defending champions required a 4-3 penalty win after a 2all scoreline in normal time to qualify for the quarter final of the championship yesterday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan Lagos.
In two other shootout situations, G12 prevailed over Admiralty FC 4-3 after a 1all stalemate in regulation time while Dosu Joseph FC fell 4-5 to Messiah FC following a normal time that ended 2all.
Elsewhere, Utility Sports beat Badagary United 2-0 to progress to the next stage, while a women’s playoff produced a 1nil win for CATS Ladies over Phoenix Queens.
Meanwhile, following the conclusion of the round of 16 stage of the men’s tournament, the complete quarter pairings scheduled for tomorrow have got more excitement in store for football fans in Lagos.
Dannaz kick off things at 8am with another testing encounter against Nigeria National League side Ikorodu United.
