FAAN appeals for passenger patience amidst expected Eid travel surge, vows to curb touting

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has appealed to passengers for understanding and adherence to airport regulations, anticipating a significant increase in flight schedules and passenger traffic ahead of the sallah celebrations.

Managing Director, FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku who made the plea in an interview with reporters in Lagos, urged travellers to exercise patience, emphasizing that airlines rarely delay or cancel flights without valid reasons.

While cautioning against destructive behaviour in response to flight disruptions, she stressed the importance of respecting both passenger and airline rights and urged passengers to arrive at airports punctually and maintain orderly conduct.

Mrs Kuku assured the public that FAAN is actively working to ensure all airports meet required standards, with efforts focused on maintaining facilities and runways for seamless passenger facilitation, .

She acknowledged the ongoing challenge of touting at airports, reiterating FAAN’s commitment to its eradication.

While recognizing that the fight against such practices is met with resistance, the FAAN boss affirmed the authority’s determination to combat the issue through persistent action and public sensitization.

According to her, there have been positive feedback from passengers, indicating a growing awareness of the authority’s efforts.
