FAAN Launches Integrated ISO Policy to Elevate Standards

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has introduced a new Integrated ISO Policy designed to enhance service quality, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability across all airports under its management.

The initiative merges two key international standards — ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) — into a unified framework aimed at strengthening accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement within the authority.

Speaking at the official launch in Lagos, FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, represented by the Director of Human Resources and Administration, Dr. Luqman Emiola, said the policy underscores the agency’s commitment to excellence in airport management and environmental responsibility.

According to her, the Integrated ISO Policy will institutionalize a culture of quality service delivery, safety, and sustainability across all FAAN-operated airports.

She further emphasized the importance of documentation, noting that “if it is not documented, it is considered not done.”

FAAN revealed that it has achieved about 70 percent completion of the ISO certification process, with external auditors expected in November to assess compliance.

The authority is targeting full certification by December 2025.

Officials reaffirmed that the new policy would not only boost customer satisfaction but also align Nigeria’s airport operations with global best practices for safe, secure, and efficient service delivery.
